4 months later...

I think the reason that my posts are so far apart is twofold. 1) I have 3 kids and never any time to devote to this and 2) It makes me so sad that I can't post pics of Vera here as she is in nearly all of my pics of course!

But we've had a very busy winter as always. October continued with more soccer fun, school fun, and Halloween! Nicholas was a Ninja Turtle, Nolan was Batman, and Vera was a ladybug.

In November we celebrated Vera's 1st birthday! It happened to be Orphan Sunday as well and Graham and I had the privilege of sharing our testimony at church and inviting others to become foster parents. Miss V looked beautiful on her big day and we had a lovely party at Mom and Dad's home with all of our family in attendance. And Nick lost his first tooth!! We celebrated Mimi and PopPop's birthdays (well we got sick for PopPop's...) and Turkey day. Unfortunately right after Mimi's birthday Nolan came down with a bad flu-like cold and it passed to all 5 of us. I got it the worst and we were all so sick for a looooong time. We did manage to celebrate Thanksgiving with Grandad and Kaki and had a nice relaxing visit at their cabin.

In December we celebrated our many family birthdays: Uncle TJ, Trip, Nolan!, Aunt Ashley, and now Eli too! For Nolan's fourth birthday he invited a few of his buddies to play at Chuck E. Cheese. He had loads of fun! Nolan had his Christmas program and we attended NACF at church and Mady was in the Nutcracker! Lots of Christmas parties and family time made it very special. We ended the year with a fun New Year's Eve party with friends at our house.

January and February have been cold, cold, cold, and more cold. We have missed so much school due to cold, snow, and ice! The first day back to school was cancelled due to below freezing temps. Then 2 weeks ago we had SnowJam2014. It began to snow in the middle of the day and quickly stuck to roads causing ice everywhere. Schools closed and parents rushed to get their children but got stuck all over the city. Thousands were stranded, even not making it home until the next day. Uncle TJ was one of those stranded and Uncle Jay had to abandon his car and walk home the last many miles. Nicholas was stuck at school for 2 hours and I was panicked but that was nothing considering the many others stories out there. This week we did it all over again although thankfully everyone was safe and sound in their homes as ice and snow have covered Atlanta. Yet another week off of school. We made the best of it this time watching the Olympics, playing our own version of snowlympics and enjoying our time together. I am ready to get out of the house tomorrow though after 4 days at home!! We did manage to take the boys to a UGA basketball game in January which was very fun! And last week we celebrated Papa's 95th birthday!! Can't believe it! We had a wonderful party at mom's house and the Hensley's came into town. What a great visit and we got to meet Conrad for the first time!

Well that's all for now! Next up, baseball, soccer, tball, and music class begin and hopefully Spring!! And most of all hopefully some ADOPTION news soon!!!
